The Natural History Museum is one of three large museums on Exhibition Road and is home to life and earth science specimens comprising five main collections: Botany, Entomology, Mineralogy, Palaeontology and Zoology amounting to approximately 70 million items. The collections have great historical and scientific value, such as Darwin's specimens. The museum is a world-renowned centre of research and the Natural History Museum library contains extensive books, journals, manuscripts, and artwork collections linked to the work and research of the scientific departments.
The museum is famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons incuding the 32 m long replica Diplodocus skeleton, situated within the central hall.
