The National Gallery

The National Gallery is an art museum on Trafalgar Square, houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings from the mid 13th Century up to 1900.
The collection of art belongs to the public of the United Kingdom and a large majority of the collection was provided by private donations.
It used to be claimed that this was one of the few national galleries that had all its works on permanent exhibition, however this is no longer the case, as some European galleries now have permanent exhibitions too.
The gallery contains work varying from Cézanne to Giotto.
The National Gallery was used in the filming of 'St Trinians', the popular teenage comedy.
