The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

Queens Diamond JubileeThe Silver and Golden Jubilee’s were two spectacular celebrations marking the 25th and 50thyear of Queen Elizabeth’s Reign of the United Kingdom. They were remarkable moments in British history and are renowned throughout our streets and cities for being both a lively mix of culture and a reminder of what makes Britain so great - this year’s Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II will be a celebration no one in London can afford to miss.  To mark such a spectacular event, The Queen has organized a number of special, one off celebrations. Saturday 2 June 2012 - The Queen will be attending the Epsom Derby. Come along and join her in rooting for your favourite horse and jockey!  Sunday 3 June 2012 - The Queen has announced the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant! The Pageant is shaping up to be a brilliant event, starting from Battersea Bridge, a collection of boats gathering throughout the River Thames will form and create the largest flotilla ever seen. The Queen will lead the flotilla in the Royal Barge, while bells and flags will bring the Thames to life and serve as an incredible start to the summer. Monday 4 June 2012 - The BBC are organising a televised Diamond Jubilee concert which will showcase british and commonwealth musicians. Tickets will be available through public ballot sometime in the future.  As well as this, the day will conclude with the lighting of the networked beacons by communities all over England. The final beacon, the National Beacon, will be lit by Queen Elizabeth II herself.  Tuesday 5 June 2012 - The Diamond Jubilee celebrations will conclude with a service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral and a formal carriage procession by the Queen.  If you're interested in making the most of your visit to London, why not visit one (or more!) of the Royal Attractions or Parks scattered throughout the city?
