Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens is first and foremost a scientific institution. With its collections of living and preserved plants, of plant products and botanical information, it forms an encyclopaedia of knowledge about the plant kingdom. Kew Gardens is a vast collection of green land and glasshouses spanning across 300 acres. It is host to the largest collection of living plants. It holds more than 30,000 different species of plant, with the herbarium having around seven million perserved plant specimens. Kew Palace is one of the many attractions which can be found in the gardens, as well as The Mirianne North Gallery, The Princess of Wales conservatory and Queens Charlotte' Cottage. The station just east of the gardens entrace is Kew Gardens Station (10 minute walk). The station offers Underground, Overground and even National Rail as options for transport.  Guided walks are available for free when visiting Kew Gardens. They begin at 11:00 and finish at 14:00 everyday, other than Christmas Day.
