• What is staynearby?
• Staynearby is a service designed to link property owners with people looking to rent for a short-term period. It enables property owners to list their property details, upload photos, display location maps, etc, so that visitors to events, festivals and maybe just those on holiday can find their ideal room, apartment or house to rent.

 

I want to find a property

• Where do I start?
• • You can search for proeprty using the search or by browsing.
  • Choose an event category from the navigation tabs at the top of the home page – The Games, Attractions, Events, or Destinations.
  • Choose the location of the event you wish to visit from the drop down list on the right hand side.
  • If you wish to narrow down your results click on the ‘see all’ button and enter your search criteria on the right hand side (see FAQ ‘My search request has returned too many options’).
  • You’ll be given a list of properties close to the event you have chosen. From here you can click on a property to get more information about it.
  • Alternatively, you can use the search function on the home page to go directly to somewhere you have in mind.

• How can I tell if one property is nearer the event than another?
• • On the right hand side of the property page will be a list of events and attractions based on distance.
  • To get a broader range of results, click on the ‘view them all’ link to be taken to a map of the area.
  • The events and attractions will be plotted on the map, with more than one in an area being coupled in a group. The amount of events in an area will be displayed, and you can zoom in to see more.

• What if my search returns too many options?
• • Once you click on ‘see all’ you will find a refine search tool on the right hand side of the results. You can change the following specifics based on your requirements.
  • The ‘Accommodation’ category: the type of property you are looking for, as well as the specific nights you wish to rent.
  • The ‘Price Range’ slider: the minimum and maximum you wish to pay.
  • The ‘Search Radius’ slider: the amount, in miles, you wish the property to be from the venue.
  • The ‘Facilities’ category: the items that must be available in the properties returned in your results.  

• How do I book my stay?
• • Select a property from your results (by clicking on 'More Details') to see the full listing.
  • The property listing will provide a full description of the property including the accommodation, facilities, and location and booking conditions.
  • If the property is what you are looking for, click 'Contact Owner'.
  • Complete the ‘Contact Owner’ form (do not forget to include your contact details) and send the message.
  • The owner will contact you directly via your email address or phone number.

• How do I pay for my stay ?
• The payment details and process will be agreed between the property owner and yourself. Staynearby is more of an introduction service and is not involved in the booking or the payment transaction.
